As a Senior Planner you will:
• Apply specialist knowledge, expertise and strategic thinking to undertake problem solving as part of a project team on planning and development assessment related matters that are of strategic importance to regional planning and the department.
• Undertake research and analysis, and interpret and provide advice on complex issues in relation to regional planning initiatives under the Planning Act 2016 and Regional Planning Interests Act 2014.
• Prepare high quality documentation including correspondence, submissions, briefs, presentations, and reports on complex and sensitive issues.
• Coordinate and maintain project management and reporting systems and work to project plans and timeframes that contribute to effective delivery of the regional planning program.
• Maintain professional networks with internal and external stakeholders by keeping open and effective lines of communication.
• Work collaboratively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional planning project outcomes are achieved.
• Actively participate in team meetings and divisional discussions in a respectful manner and share your technical skills and experience to provide support to other officers in the team.
• Represent the department, as appropriate, at meetings, forums, committees, and industry/stakeholder events in an effective and professional manner.
