Machinist / Fitter
Due to continued company growth at Bevtech, an exciting opportunity exists for a Trade Qualified Machinist / Fitter & Turner to join our dynamic team in a workshop environment manufacturing high-quality components for the beverage and food processing industry. This is a full-time position with consistent hours, offering stability and room for advancement.
The Role
You'll be responsible for precision machining tasks, including:
Setting up, programming, and operating manual and CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines.
Large diameter turning and jobbing works.
Turning/milling, including 4-axis Mazatrol Integrex/Quickturn and 4-axis mills, Mazatrol Programming.
Handling small to medium batch runs, one-offs, and jobbing work on all types of material.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings to tight tolerances, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Weekend overtime and additional hours are available during peak periods to support our fast-paced operations.
Shifts
Day shift with flexible options: Typically, Mon–Fri 6:00am–2:00pm, with potential overtime.
Some weekend work as required for busy seasons.
To Be Successful
You MUST possess:
Trade Qualification as a Fitter Turner or Machinist, with at least 3–5 years post-trade experience in a jobbing shop or manufacturing setting.
Proven skills in general fitting, machining, and fabrication, ideally on food/beverage processing equipment but not mandatory.
Familiarity with programming, Inventor, or Mazatrol Smooth EZ – experience with Mazak machines is highly regarded.
Experience with large diameter turning and jobbing shop experience is essential.
Ability to work unassisted, meet deadlines, and maintain quality standards while operating multiple machines.
Strong understanding of AS1100 drawing standards, CAD/CAM, tool selection, job setup, material grades, and optimizing speeds/feeds.
A team-oriented mindset with a "can-do" attitude, reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety.
Willingness to work overtime (45–55 hours per week during peaks) and impart knowledge to the team.
