Primary Classroom Teacher – Full-Time, 2026
📍 Location: Compass Independent School, QUT Campus, Kelvin Grove
Compass Independent School is a vibrant, growing learning community now in its third year of operation. Located on the QUT Kelvin Grove campus, Compass is a unique P–10 vertical school that offers a rich, child-centred education through a blend of indoor and outdoor learning.
As we expand in 2026, we are excited to invite a passionate and dedicated Primary Classroom Teacher to join our team. With enrolments expected to reach approximately 80 students across the school, this new role will join our Primary Years team as our third full-time classroom teacher.
About the Role
While this role will most likely join our Lower Primary team with a focus on our multi-age Prep to Year 2 class, they will also work collaboratively across the full P – 6 primary years. Our large, flexible classrooms support small-group instruction, learning centres, and stations—fostering independence, choice, and collaboration in the learning process.
We deliver the Australian Curriculum through an integrated approach, similar to practices found in International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. Our Units of Inquiry are transdisciplinary and engaging. In 2025, some of these included Identity and Diversity, Adaptations, and We Are Makers—all designed to promote deep thinking and real-world application. English and Mathematics are meaningfully integrated into these units wherever possible, creating rich, contextualised learning experiences.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a creative, collaborative teacher who:
· Is passionate about child-led, inquiry-based learning
· Thrives in a flexible, team-teaching environment
· Enjoys working closely with small groups of children
· Embraces daily nature play and outdoor learning in beautiful local parklands
This role will suit a reflective, innovative teacher who brings their own interests and strengths into the classroom, and values both autonomy and collaboration in their practice.
Why Join Compass?
· A small, supportive school community
· Engaged, curious, and focused learners
· Collaborative and caring leadership team
· Spacious, light-filled classrooms and high-quality resources
· 4 hours of non-contact time per week
· Strong emphasis on professional learning and team collaboration
