Open Pit Gold Mine Geologist
About the Role
An established gold producer is seeking a Mine Geologist to join their open pit team in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Working an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster (ex-Perth), you’ll support daily mining operations through grade control and business-as-usual mine geology activities.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake grade control drilling, sampling, logging, and reconciliation.
Provide daily geological input into mine planning and production.
Manage pit mapping, ore spotting, mark-ups, and dilution control.
Compile and validate geological data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Contribute to monthly reporting and resource development activities.
Liaise closely with mining, survey, and processing teams to maximise ore recovery.
About You
Degree in Geology.
Previous experience in an open pit mine environment, with a strong background in grade control.
Confident with geological software and data management systems.
Comfortable working 12-hour shifts on an 8&6 FIFO roster.
Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
What’s on Offer
FIFO from Perth on an 8&6 roster.
$700 – $1000 per day + superannuation.
Initial 3 month contract - potential for ongoing work based on performance
