About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Piggery Attendant to join our team at Southern Banks in Torrumbarry, VIC. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and management of our pigs, ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing.

What you'll be doing

Monitoring the pigs health and administering any necessary medical treatments

Feeding and watering the pigs according to their dietary needs

Cleaning and maintaining the piggery facilities to the highest standards of hygiene

Keeping detailed records of the pigs performance and any issues

Reporting any concerns or problems to the farm manager

Adhering to all farm bio-security and quarantine regulations specified by Southern Banks

Adhering to health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

Some one who actually wants to work with, and care for animals**

Ability to work effectively independently, to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard without supervision

Strong communication skills to liaise with farm management and report on piggeries activities

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, to meet the needs of the business

A commitment to maintaining high animal welfare and biosecurity

Willingness to work in a high physically demanding environment
