Custom Air Qld is an established business with 33 years experience specialising in Design, Manufacture, Supply & Installation of Custom, Sleeper Cab Air Conditioning Systems & Customised Sleeper Cabin Fit outs. Our QLD Fit out Centre is based in Wacol Brisbane.

We have several divisions that make up our company which cover Design, Metal Fabrication, Assembly, Painting, Installation & Upholstery.

Due to the continued growth of our company, we currently have an opportunity for a Motivated & Suitably Experienced - Fabricator / Welder to join the team with any of the below preferred qualifications and attributes.

This role requires a self-motivated, responsible person with excellent trade qualities & Communication skills who is able to work unsupervised and as a part of a team, reporting direct to the Workshop Manager.

Responsibilities and activities will include:

Weld steel / aluminium components with supplied welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.

Work includes set-up, laying out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished products.

Operate hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders and other hand tools related to the job needs.

Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, engineering drawings, and/or work orders.

Skills and Experience:

Ability in the use of a cnc Pan Break & Guilitine

Ability in the use of a cnc Press Break

Ability to read plans and drawings.

Ability to accurately cut materials.

Experience in Aluminium, Stainless Steel, MIG & TIG

Ability to handle electrical tools and perform accurate measuring

Good communication skills

Display strong problem solving and decision making skills

Be highly motivated, willing to learn and advance yourself.

Attention to detail

Ability to follow processes

Be able to work unsupervised
