Job Openings: Canteen Assistants
Location: Viewbank (9am-2pm) and Upwey (8:30am-2:30)
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable team members to join our school canteens in Viewbank and Upwey.
Positions: Support staff (canteen assistants, front-of-house staff, kitchen hands)
Hours:
Viewbank – Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2:00pm
Upwey – Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 2:30pm
Work Schedule:
Fixed casual schedule (set days and hours)
40 weeks per year
Operates during normal Victorian school days only
Closed on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays

Key Duties
Organize and prepare foods according to the menu.
Basic cooking and food preparation skills.
Check all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
Ensure stock is kept at appropriate levels and assist the canteen manager in maintaining stock inventory.
Service students and teachers using our IPAD POS system.
Help with washing and tidying up the kitchen area.
Maintain and keep the kitchen and all service areas clean and tidy.
Adhere to Australian Food Safety Standards and Food Standards Code.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience in a café or food industry environment.
Barista or coffee experience is a bonus.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Experience in food preparation and service settings.
Ability to work fast, efficiently, and under pressure.
Positive can-do attitude and self-motivation.
Minimum 12 months proven experience in Australian kitchen operations for the chef position.
You are also needed to be a holder of:
Food Safety and Handling certificate.
Working for children certificate check.
Police check.
