About the role
In this role, you'll have daily liaison with developers and internal teams to support the development and implementation of growth area plans, helping to coordinate infrastructure delivery and development contributions to assist the City in realising its long-term strategic goals.
Work type: Temporary full time (12 months)
Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 pa + super
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with internal teams, developers and government agencies to lead coordination of infrastructure delivery and development contributions administration, and provide support for strategic planning in growth areas.
- Provide technical advice and project management support to assist the development and implementation of strategic plans, Precinct Structure Plans, and Development Contribution Plans.
- Monitor development activity, assess developer contributions and support project coordination to ensure orderly development aligned with developer contribution agreements and Council policies.
- Prepare reports, briefing papers, funding applications, consultancy briefs, and manage consultants as required.
- Uphold Council values, comply with relevant policies and legislation, and perform additional duties as required.
About you
To be successful in the role, you will have tertiary qualifications or experience in strategic or statutory planning, project management, development management, infrastructure management or related field.
Essential Experience:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate and mediate effectively.
- Knowledge of planning legislation and practices relevant to greenfield and growth area development.
- Proven analytical, research skills and attention to detail with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in growth area planning, development contributions, or infrastructure design and delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience using GIS platforms such as ArcGIS.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
