About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Financial Accountant to join the dynamic team at Saizeriya Australia Pty Ltd, which is a popular Japanese/Italian restaurant chain operating in several Asian countries. We are now in the process of establishing the Saizeriya Restaurant operations in Australia. As the Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health and reporting of our organisation. This full-time position is based in our Cobblebank, VIC office, where we already have our food manufacturing facility.

What you'll be doing

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate any discrepancies

Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis

Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and support decision-making

Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies

Participate in special projects and ad-hoc tasks as required

Preparation and lodgement of monthly payroll tax and Payment Times Reporting System.

Assist with BAS, tax reporting, payroll reconciliation, and external audits while ensuring compliance with accounting standards

Work with internal stakeholders to address financial queries as well as support ad-hoc projects

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance

CPA or CA qualification or working towards completion

At least 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar financial accounting role

A minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a financial accounting role is essential

Proficient in the use of accounting software and MS Office suite

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with the restaurant and dining industry is advantageous

Australian work authorisation is required for this position
