Senior Accountant - Public Practice

Location: Regional Victoria – Bendigo
Full Time | Permanent
$90,000 – $120,000 + Super (based on experience)

Our client is a professional accounting firm servicing clients across regional Victoria and Melbourne. They offer comprehensive services in taxation, accounting compliance, SMSFs, and business consulting to a diverse client base including businesses, individuals, and organisations.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career with a firm that values your expertise.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs

Managing BAS, IAS, and other compliance lodgements

Supporting SMSF clients through full compliance including liaising with external auditors

Providing business advisory services such as cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and tax planning

Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Mentoring junior staff and reviewing their work

Staying up-to-date with relevant tax laws and industry updates

What We’re Looking For:

3–5+ years of experience in public practice

CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)

Strong technical skills and experience in Australian tax and accounting standards

SMSF experience highly regarded

Excellent communication and client service skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team

Experience with software such as Xero, MYOB, BGL, or Class Super is a plus

Must have full Australian working rights (citizenship, PR, or appropriate visa)
