What you'll be doing
In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical care, oversight, education, and support to trial patients and their carers. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing patient-centered care, from referrals to treatment plans for oncology trial participants.
Overseeing treatment workflows and develop clinical plans for trial participants.
Performing specialised oncology nursing procedures, such as chemotherapy infusion and cannulation.
Mentoring and supervising research nurses, ensuring quality, compliance, and improvement in care.
Collaborating with clinical staff and Principal Investigators to coordinate care and assess new trial feasibility.

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Selection Criteria:
At least 5 years’ full time equivalent post registration experience in Oncology Nursing, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial processes, patient care standards, and investigational therapies across various cancer types, with a strong appreciation of the importance of evidence-based research in advancing patient outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise competing work requirements across a variety of settings.
A proven ability to implement change and develop direction in clinical practice through the utilisation of evidence-based practice.
Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy in decision making when required, and to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong leadership with experience providing advice and guidance to junior members of the team.
