Hours: 38 hours a week + RDO every fortnight (9-day fortnight)
Additional Allowances and overtime may be applicable
Attractive Salary: 65,281.84 - $75,868.52 + 12% Superannuation per annum.
Are you an experienced plant operator looking to play a hands-on role in building and maintaining essential local infrastructure? Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking a motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our construction team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality roads and infrastructure projects across the region.
What you'll do
As a Plant Operator – Construction, you’ll report to the Team Leader Construction, be directly involved in the construction and rehabilitation of Council’s road network and other civil assets. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll operate medium to large plant and machinery and assist in a range of manual labouring and skilled tasks under supervision.
You will also:
Ensure compliance with Council’s safety, environmental and quality standards.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and service standards.
Actively contribute to a positive WHS culture and safe work environment.
Use sound judgment and initiative to assist in resolving day-to-day site issues.

What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage) operating of medium to large plant and machinery relevant to the field equipment including trucks, rollers, excavators and graders, and manual labouring.
Proven ability to follow instructions within a team environment, and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.
Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.
Hold and maintain MR Drivers Licence, Ticket or Competency qualification to operate Excavator, Grader or Backhoe, and WHS Induction Card
Other requirements
Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement
Be willing to Participate in on-call roster and overtime (where applicable)
