About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this full-time Major Plant Operator (Street Sweeper / Skid-steer) role is responsible for operating and maintaining large construction machinery and vehicles to support the cleaning operations of National Team Cleaning Services' in Homebush, NSW.

What you'll be doing

Safely operate and maintain a range of large plant and equipment including street sweepers, skid-steer loaders and other specialised cleaning machinery

Perform pre-start checks, basic servicing and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and guidelines to protect yourself and others

Contribute to the efficient and effective collection of waste (mainly produce, paper, carboard) for one larger retailer/wholesaler which operates 24/7

Provide support and guidance to less experienced plant operators as required

Maintain accurate log books and complete relevant documentation

What we're looking for

Proven experience as a Plant Operator in the construction or related industry, with a strong focus on street sweeping and skid-steer loader operation

Minimum of 1-2 years of plant operator experience is required

Hold a valid driver's licence and relevant plant operation tickets or licences

Excellent knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements for operating large plant and equipment

Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on machinery to keep it in good working order

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to handle unexpected situations

Keen attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records

A proactive, reliable and safety-focused approach to your work

Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
