The Opportunity

This is a ‘New to Market’ Principal Structural Engineer opportunity where you’ll lead a team, manage projects and mentor others whilst delivering a wide variety of work for a range of new and existing world leading client businesses.

Managing a small team and liaising with a range of world class clients, you’ll provide expert structural integrity advice on repairs and upgrades, along with detailed reports and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage fee proposals and tenders with existing and new clients
• Coordinate resources, ensurE projects completed on time & budget
• Oversee structural condition audits of mining & port infrastructure
• Prepare & analyse reports (structural, mining, marine, concrete, steel)
• Steel & concrete design, FEA modelling, hand calcs, 3D & 2D models
• Oversee designs, check drawings, prepare scopes of work & tech specs
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and budget
• Undertake periodic travel to WA, Qld and SA as required.

About You
You’ll be well rounded in design, people and office management, site inspections, client management and have the ability to develop new client relationships.

The key prerequisites are:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (RPEQ and CPEng desirable)
• Demonstrated people management and mentoring skills
• Excellent report writing, verbal and interpersonal skills
• Strong team orientation and excellent time management skills
• Structural steel & concrete design and inspection exp.
• Ability to assess & make engineering judgement decisions
• Solid knowledge of steel, concrete and wind codes
• Exp in MS Suite, Sharepoint, 12d Synergy, SpaceGASS, Strand7
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
• Full drivers licence
