About the role

As a Software Architect & Dev Team Lead, you’ll bridge the gap between IT architecture and operational delivery, working with internal customers who are highly technical IT professionals. This role is responsible for designing, right sizing, reviewing and overseeing the delivery of robust IT solutions to ensure it is aligned with AC3's business goals.

As an architect, you will be responsible for the strategy and roadmap of AC3 technology use - to ensure that it supports our product and service offerings to our customers, whilst also driving continual improvement to optimise productivity and costs through the technology adopted by AC3.

You will:

• Own the internal Technology roadmap and systems ensuring it aligns to business strategy and needs
• Partner with IT stakeholders to design and implement modern, scalable, and cost-effective solutions
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, ensuring AC3 stays ahead of the curve
• Ensure architectural standards, patterns, and best practices are followed across systems and services
• In addition to designing solutions, actively engage in their implementation, guiding your team and participating in hands-on technical work to address capacity or capability gaps as required.
• Mentor, upskill, and identify development opportunities within the team to strengthen overall technical expertise

Skills & experience

We’re looking for someone who thrives on complex technical challenges but also wants to grow as a leader.

• 10–15+ years in the Industry with a strong experience across Software Architecture
• Experience in taking business challenges and translating them into suitable technical solutions.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading technical teams highly regarded (open to someone eager to step into a leadership role)
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, integration, APIs, automation frameworks, data modelling and governance methodologies. Java development, AWS Lambda function, microservices, etc.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to simplify and deliver pragmatic solutions
• Experience working with and influencing other IT professionals at a senior level
• Industry certifications highly regarded (ITIL and Agile/Project Management, AWS, Microsoft, etc.)
