Staġuni Restaurant is looking for a casual chef to join our kitchen team. We are looking for an experienced individual who has a positive attitude, who thrives in a creative and produce driven environment and would like to work with a supportive and engaging team.

Staġuni is a small 30 seater restaurant in the Barossa Valley, with a focus on Mediterranean dishes and comfortable dining, in a revitalised 100 year old school house. Staġuni embodies what we love most about hospitality, with authenticity, creativity and connection at the forefront of what we do. Inspired by European eateries and the different ways in which communities eat around the world.

Recently awarded two accolades in the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards.

We value a sustainable working week, and with one dinner service and four lunch services per week, the majority of shifts available are during the day.

Responsibilities of the role include:

Assisting with prep, and taking responsibility for section prep when covering for other section chefs

Assisting with service tasks and taking responsibility for a section during service when covering for other section chefs

Ensuring a high standard of kitchen cleanliness is maintained

Cleaning and kitchen pack down

Willingness to learn

Ability to work well within a team

Willingness to interact with guests when required

A high understanding of good hygiene, food and personal safety

Strong organisational skills

Strong communication style

Minimum of 1-2 years professional cooking experience required

Must have Australian work rights

Though a formal qualification is not vital, this role does require previous experience as a chef or cook. Availability on weekends is also required.
