About the Opportunity
As the Intake Officer, you will expertly assist clients as they navigate financial inclusion intake processes and access relevant services. You’ll conduct initial assessments and ensure referrals are made to the most appropriate financial inclusion programs or other community services. Your work will also support data collection systems and contribute to analysis and evaluation activities that help shape and improve service delivery.
You’ll be actively involved in producing reports, participating in planning and advocacy efforts, and promoting services to the wider community. This is a role where your skills and passion for helping others will directly contribute to positive change.
This role is based across Anglicare NT Office Sites in the Greater Darwin Region.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant qualifications in community services and experience with intake processes, with a willingness to complete Financial Capability Worker modules (CHCSS00077)
- Strong understanding of the causes of poverty and social exclusion, and familiarity with local service systems and referral pathways.
- Substantial experience in utilising data systems in the community social services sector.
- Excellent communication skills, resilience, and a solution-focused approach, with the ability to engage respectfully with people experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, or marginalisation.
- Proven ability to manage crisis situations, maintain professional boundaries, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver’s licence.
Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
