Senior Business Advisor

Full-Time | 4-month contract (possibility of extension)

About the Role
Are you a highly experienced finance professional with a passion for driving strategic financial outcomes? The State Government is looking for a Senior Business Advisor to provide expert financial and business advisory services supporting key government divisions.
This senior role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting to help guide important decisions that support regional growth and public sector initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, dashboards, and management insights
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for assigned business units
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Support development of business cases and funding proposals
• Drive savings initiatives, financial risk management, and process improvements
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders to inform strategic decision-making
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment

About You

• Full CA or CPA qualification (mandatory)
• At least 10 years’ experience in financial management, business advisory, or similar roles
• Strong expertise in costing, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Experience communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems such as SAP or Oracle
• Knowledge of public sector financial frameworks is highly desirable
