The Team:
you will be joining is the Statewide Mental Health Services Executive Leadership team. This is a dynamic, experienced passionate team that works collaboratively to develop, deliver and evaluate policies, programs and initiatives within SMHS that influence service and strategic directions in Tasmania ensuring that mental health across the age continuum, alcohol and drug, forensic mental health and correctional primary health services are delivered with a strong consumer and carer focus whilst being sustainable, accessible, safe and of a high quality.
The Role:
Outline the key duties/responsibility of the role to be detailed by the hiring manager.
You will need:
- Demonstrated high level knowledge and understanding of the national and State policy frameworks and operations, coupled with extensive experience and proven expertise in the design, management and implementation of services, programs, and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of leadership in a complex, professional work environment with proven leadership qualities including the capacity to impart vision, lead and motivate others to gain cooperation and establish long-term strategic goals.
- Demonstrated senior high-level management skills including a demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial, human, physical and information resources and to monitor effectiveness and efficiency and to apply contemporary management techniques within a geographically dispersed service or organisation of similar complexity.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $170,409 to $188,400 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
A tertiary qualification or degree in a relevant discipline which may include a clinical, public health, business administration, health science or human services field, and/or extensive experience in the management and delivery of health services, particularly mental health and/or alcohol, drug, and forensic services
*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
