About the role

MSS Security is seeking dedicated Security Officers to join our team as Full Time Relievers at La Trobe University in Bundoora. As a Security Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the campus. You will be responsible for conducting foot patrols, securing buildings, supporting students, staff, and visitors, and working within the control room as required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct foot patrols of campuses, mostly outdoors.
• Escort people around the campus.
• Ensure property is locked and unlocked as required.
• Direct and assist people to navigate around the campus.
• Write reports in response to incidents.
• Operate within the control room, including CCTV monitoring, access control, alarm response, and radio communication.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Proven security industry experience.
• Previous experience in educational environments (highly desired).
• Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.
• Ability to walk up to 15-20 km a day.
• Excellent communication skills.

Requirements:

• Full Australian working rights.
• Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).
• Valid Victorian Security Licence with the control room subcategory.
• Full Victorian Drivers licence.
• Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
• Valid First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
