The Opportunity
Tasracing, Tasmania’s Principal Racing Authority, is seeking a skilled Intelligence and Betting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for detecting potential breaches of the Rules of Racing and assessing the suitability of racing participants.
Your work will involve monitoring live betting activity, gathering and analysing evidence from a variety of sources—including data downloads, social media, and computer usage—and presenting your findings through detailed reports, statements, and charts. You will also examine and evaluate links between licensed participants and betting account holders.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting investigations, including on-course evidence gathering at race meetings, and contribute to the progression of ongoing casework.
This full-time role (38 hours per week) offers flexibility to be based in either Hobart or Launceston, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Tasmania.

Key Responsibilities
Gather, assess, analyse, and share intelligence with both internal and external stakeholders.
Review complaints and referrals to identify potential breaches of the Rules of Racing and provide recommendations on appropriate actions.
Record and enhance referrals and complaints within the Case Management System.
Liaise with complainants, racing participants, and external agencies as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Tasracing Integrity Unit, including Stewards and Animal Welfare Officers.
Utilise multiple systems and information sources to support intelligence gathering.
Prepare a variety of intelligence reports tailored to different audiences.
Identify and report on trends, gaps, and emerging issues.
Recommend strategic initiatives to help mitigate risks.
Support the planning and coordination of intelligence-led, risk-based proactive operations across the state.
Effectively manage competing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
Strong investigative skills and experience in a regulatory or law enforcement context.
Have a track record of using intelligence to inform strategic decisions and operational outcomes.
Understanding the importance of integrity in sport, betting and regulation.
Experience in racing, sport integrity, or financial crime is highly desirable.
Ability to convey the working and conclusion of analysis/investigation in written reports and charts.
Knowledge/experience of simplifying and visually displaying complex data sets.
Proven experience in data analysis.
Experience of Excel and computer databases.
Significant knowledge of betting products.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
