About the Role
The Learning & Teaching Education Officer (Primary) will:
- support schools with the identification and implementation of evidence-based practices that will lead to improved learning outcomes for all students;
assist individual school staff members or teams to plan and implement programs that will lead to improved learning outcomes.
While this role is advertised as ongoing, we are open to considering a secondment opportunity for the right candidate. Ideally, the successful applicant will be based at our Mildura office; however, we are also open to considering the successful candidate being based in our Ballarat, Horsham, Warrnambool or Swan Hill offices.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:
- Collaborate with schools and CEB to support school improvement through data-informed planning, professional learning, and coaching.
- Design and implement authentic, learner-focused curriculum responsive to diverse school community needs.
- Promote and apply the principles of Professional Learning Communities and multi-tiered systems of support.
- Engage in continuous professional learning, research, and external partnerships to enhance educational outcomes.

Key Selection Criteria
- A commitment to work within and align to the DOBCEL Vision and Mission.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Curriculum.
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based pedagogy.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective, collegial and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to remain solution-focused and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
