Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,300 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.

Salary & Other Benefits

Remuneration value up to $208,630 p.a. (76 hrs p.f.) comprising salary between $6,334.30 p.f. - $6,980.10 p.f. (L10-L13); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%), professional development allowance, professional development leave 1.6 weeks p.a., employee assistance programs, and wellbeing programs.

Your opportunity

This role is required to participate in the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient, and equitable clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients. To coordinate as necessary with other personnel within the hospital, other hospital services and agencies to ensure optimum patient care, and to ensure integration of services in the wider community.

  • A Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology accredited by RANZCOG and holding General Registration with AHPRA, is a specialist trainee focused on advanced clinical practice, training, and supervision within the Mackay HHS.
  • Position combines advanced clinical training, supervision and teaching with opportunities for quality improvement and research, all within a supportive environment within the Mackay HHS.
  • Opportunity to act in higher duties as a Consultant (with support).
  • This role is suitable for a number of college advanced training modules.
  • A twelve-month contract will initially be offered with possibility of extension to complete training. There may be an opportunity to continue with us as a Consultant.

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
