We are seeking to establish a Pool of Visitor Service Officers for vacancies that may arise at the Museum of Geraldton within the next 24 months, with the possibility of Casual, Fixed term, Part-time, Full-time, and Permanent appointments.
As a measure to achieve equality under section 66ZP of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, the Museum is committed to increasing youth representation in the workforce. Therefore, young people (24 years and under) who meet the requirements of the position, may be prioritised for appointment.

About the role
The Visitor Service Officer’s (VSO) role is to provide a welcoming environment and high-quality experience for visitors to the Museum of Geraldton. The VSO’s ensure the safety of visitors and staff within the Museum, as well as the security of the Museum collection.
About you
We are seeking dynamic, self-motivated individuals who enjoy working in a positive team environment and delivering a high-quality customer service.
The successful applicants will be expected to:
· Relish working in a customer service environment.
· Provide a high level of visitor engagement through tours, technology, and interpretive programs.
· Support retail activities.
· Support public events and functions through either the event set-up, and/or pack down, and through guided tours.
· Provide a high standard of security and safety for visitors and the Museum precinct.

Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid Work Visa (for fixed term appointments), or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
A current (within six (6) months) National Police Clearance Certificate will also be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.
We also require the following:
· A valid Working with Children Check (or initial receipt of application).
Pool Recruitment
This Pool will be open for a period of 24 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes.
Permanent, fixed-term, full-time, part-time and casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
