The Role:
The Operations Manager for our Alice Springs branch is responsible for managing projects for the Central Australian region, as well as oversight of the day to day operations of the Alice Springs Branch. Reporting into the Executive Manager, Operations and working very closely other Managers across the organisation, you will have significant influence over achievements and outcomes for the Alice Springs team.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Proactive leadership in Central Australian projects from the Business Development phase, right through to the Post Project review stage
Manage secured projects for the region, ensuring on time and in budget outcomes that ensure customer satisfaction every time in partnership with procurement, Darwin Construction team, the Transport Team and other relevant stakeholders
Provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to the Alice Springs team, and make operational decisions in consultation with relevant Executives
Manage building stock fleet in the Alice Springs region and partner with other NT Link teams (including Finance, Contracts, HR, HSEQ and design) to ensure effective Asset Management
Partner with the People & Culture team to have oversight of training, development and performance of employees for the region to ensure employee retention, growth and efficiency
Complete regular reporting to be shared with the Directors and Executive team
Responsible for ensuring adherence and delivery of all Work Health and Safety requirements for the Alice Springs operation, under the guidance and advice of the HSEQ team
This role is a senior leader within the Alice Springs team, and will be required to work autonomously, whilst ensuring all stakeholders are support and engaged as required.
Ideal Candidate for this role:
Suitable candidates will have extensive experience in roles requiring consistent communication and collaboration across all levels of an organisation, and in dynamic and fast paced environments. Must be experienced in effectively managing teams across multiple sites/locations, and be experienced in managing/actively being involved in project works.
5 Years experience in a Operations leadership role within the industry, or Project Management experience within a Building, Construction or Logistics Operation is essential, as is holding an open/current Drivers Licence, High Risk Forklift Licence, and Construction White Card. Suitable candidates will be literate in Microsoft Office products (particularly Outlook, Teams, Excel and Word), and have some experience in utilising Asset Management & HSEQ systems, as well as thorough understanding of project management principles.
Suitable candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment assessments, inclusive of National Police Check and Pre-employment Medical and must be able to adhere to the organisations' Drug and Alcohol, Fitness for Work and Vehicle Policies.
