About the Role

The Master of Construction Infrastructure Management Course Coordinator/Lecturer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and facilitating a quality construction and infrastructure management program that meets rigorous academic standards while incorporating cutting-edge technology and industry-relevant applications.

This position combines expertise in construction management, infrastructure project delivery, and digital construction technologies with educational delivery capabilities, ensuring KOI's construction infrastructure management program maintains competitive advantage in the construction education marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Subject Matter Expertise

Deliver high-quality instruction across Construction Infrastructure Management subjects including:

Advanced project management and infrastructure economics

Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction delivery

Construction law, public-private partnerships, and sustainability frameworks

Data-driven project governance and construction methodology

Conduct virtual sessions, workshops, and interactive technical demonstrations

Facilitate classes using contemporary learning methodologies for AQF Level 9 professional education

Mentor Master's students through complex infrastructure projects and career preparation

Guide students through project lifecycle management, stakeholder coordination, and strategic infrastructure planning

Course Coordination & Administration

Coordinate course schedules across nested award structure (Master's, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate)

Manage enrolments, communications, and academic progress monitoring with attention to industry prerequisites

Coordinate with academic staff, industry practitioners, and professional bodies (AIQS, PMI)

Oversee technical assessments, project management standards, and BIM competency requirements

Ensure course content remains current with industry trends and regulatory requirements

Industry Partnership & Work-Integrated Learning

Develop and maintain industry partnerships through MOUs with construction firms

Coordinate work-integrated learning placements with regional construction projects

Support KOI's Newcastle campus initiatives while based in Sydney

Engage with local councils, transport authorities, and infrastructure developers

Support professionals transitioning into construction management via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Facilitate industry networking events and professional development activities

Student Support & Career Development [CHANGE: Consolidated student support sections]

Provide academic support including technical troubleshooting and project management guidance

Develop engagement strategies for construction professionals, career changers, and international students

Monitor student progress and implement intervention strategies for challenging technical concepts

Support career transition guidance and professional portfolio development for Construction Project Manager roles

Connect students with internship opportunities and industry mentorship programs

About You

Essential Qualifications

Doctoral-level qualification (PhD) or equivalent standing

Demonstrated expertise in Construction Infrastructure Management

Formal teaching qualification or adult education experience in construction/infrastructure subjects

Minimum 8-10 years combined construction industry and educational experience

Essential Knowledge & Skills [CHANGE: Streamlined and clarified technical requirements]

Expert knowledge across core areas: Advanced Project Management, Infrastructure Systems, Construction Economics, Procurement, Contract Administration, Public-Private Partnership frameworks

Advanced understanding of contemporary Construction Infrastructure Management practices

Demonstrated proficiency in higher education learning principles and pedagogy (Graduate Certificate in Higher Education preferred)

Proven competency in multiple education delivery methods and virtual facilitation

Project management capabilities with multiple concurrent initiatives

Understanding of academic quality assurance and TEQSA standards

Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (particularly Moodle)

Competency in virtual classroom technologies

Desirable Qualifications

Professional certifications: PMP, AIQS, Australian Institute of Building, RICS

Educational technology qualifications

Experience with TechOne or similar Student Information Systems

Industry consulting or senior leadership experience in construction/infrastructure

Regional construction market experience, particularly Hunter Valley
