About us: Proserpine Youth Space provide support, guidance, case management and referral services for young people aged 10-21. We offer a safe space for local youth and run a wide range of youth development and community programs.

The role: Proserpine Youth Space are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Centre Coordinator to lead and manage our programs and services. This is a crucial role in creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for young people, fostering their personal growth and connecting them to opportunities within the community.

Key responsibilities: Program development and delivery - design, implement and oversee diverse programs, workshops and activities that cater to the interests and needs of local youth.

Community engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with youth, families, schools, community groups and relevant stakeholders.

Mentorship and support: Provide guidance, support, case management and mentorship to young people, helping them develop life skills, navigate challenges and achieve their goals.

Centre Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the youth centre, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for all.

Supervision: Supervise and support youth workers and volunteers.

Required skills and experience:

Proven experience in youth work, program coordination or a related field.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively

A passion for youth development and a commitment to empowering young people. Experience with case management would be beneficial.

Experience in community engagement and building positive relationships.

Successful applicants will have a minimum Diploma level qualification in youth/social work, counselling, health care, education or related fields.

Computer literacy and ability to write observations, reports and grant applications.
