Jabalbina seeks to recruit the following experienced youth support workers/mentors to assist young Indigenous people at risk within its new programs.

About us
The Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation (Jabalbina) administers native title rights, Aboriginal freehold land and Indigenous Land Use Agreements on behalf of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji People.

Youth Mentors FT
In your role as Youth Mentor, you will work closely with program coordinators, elders, and community members to deliver high-quality mentoring, coaching and case management for at-risk young people within the program.
Team Leader FT
This position will see you provide leadership, guidance, and operational support to the Mentors within Jabaibina’s youth programs. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, consistent engagement with young people, and adherence to program frameworks, while fostering a supportive and culturally safe team environment.
Some of the things you will be doing include:
Assist and support young people with the processes of therapeutic, AOD, Social & Emotional intervention.
Provide guidance and support to youth in setting goals, exploring career pathways, and accessing relevant resources and opportunities.
Assisting with setting up camps, coordinating activities, transportation and supervision.
Facilitate team-building exercises, group discussions and cultural activities.
Administration duties including case notes, record keeping and reporting.
Location: Cairns with travel to surrounding areas.
Qualifications & experience
Open Drivers License
Blue Card
Senior First Aid
Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous youth and communities, preferably in a mentoring or youth development capacity
Deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and traditions
Intermediate administration and computer skills
Able to work flexible hours
