About the role

As a 4th Year Electrical Apprentice at Sunnyside Up Solar, you’ll step beyond the basics of electrical work and gain real, hands-on solar industry experience. You’ll be working alongside qualified electricians on a wide range of projects – from residential solar PV and battery storage installations to general electrical tasks.

This role is designed for an apprentice who is close to completing their trade and wants to specialise in solar and renewable energy. You’ll develop advanced installation and fault-finding skills, learn industry best practices, and contribute directly to projects that make a difference for households across Brisbane.

We’re looking for someone who is motivated, reliable, and eager to take ownership of their work. In return, you’ll be supported by a close-knit team, receive ongoing training, and have a clear pathway to transition into a fully qualified solar electrician.

What you'll be doing

Assisting in solar PV and battery installations

Supporting commissioning and testing under supervision

Carrying out general electrical tasks

Learning advanced solar/electrical installation practices

Following WHS protocols and maintaining tidy, safe worksites

What we're looking for

We’re after a driven 4th Year Electrical Apprentice who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow with a business that values quality and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have:

Current 4th Year Electrical Apprenticeship (QLD)

Solar installation experience (PV and/or battery)

White Card & valid Driver’s Licence

Strong work ethic and attention to detail

Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship

A positive, team-focused attitude and eagerness to learn
