QC Technician
Proclinical is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our client, a global Biopharmaceutical leader renowned for its innovation and commitment to delivering medicines to treat health conditions and improve quality of life. At their Broadmeadows site, they manufacture life-saving blood plasma–derived medicines.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Team Leader QC Chemistry Spectroscopy, the QC Technician will support quality control laboratory operations, including assay performance, equipment maintenance, stock management, and documentation according to GMP requirements. This role is highly varied, involving both laboratory and administrative support to ensure smooth QC operations across chemistry testing and compliance activities.
Team Size: 9 people in QC Chemistry (20–30 across the full lab)
Duration: 12-month contract
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Standard Mon–Fri business hours (start between 8–9am). Overtime unlikely, but penalty rates paid if required.
Capacity: All onsite, no work from home
Location: Broadmeadows, VIC 3047
WHV: Must have full work rights for the duration of the contract
Potential to Extend: Too early to confirm, possible extension
Role Responsibilities
Assist with laboratory duties, including performance of assays and preparation of reagents.
Maintain housekeeping of the laboratory including stock take, ordering of materials and reagents, and monitoring usage of in-house standards and controls.
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained, calibrated, and troubleshoot malfunctions as needed.
Complete, sign off, and archive records in accordance with GMP procedures, including LIMS entries and control records.
Manage stock inventory to meet QC testing requirements.
Coordinate distribution of samples for testing within QC and arrange for external testing where required.
Support documentation management, including preparation, review, and updates of PDLs, forms, and test procedures through approved systems.
Facilitate continuous improvement within QC using Lean Six Sigma principles.
Support general laboratory readiness, ensuring samples and documents are correctly managed and available for testing.
Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
Previous experience as a lab technician, with a background in science and chemistry preferred.
GMP knowledge/experience (highly regarded).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated teamwork, organisational, and communication skills.
