East Coast Apprenticeships is a proud traditional Group Training Organisation (GTO) employing Apprentices and Trainees across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and the Wide-Bay region. We have been in operation for over 35 years and have supported thousands of young Queenslanders develop practical skills in their chosen trade qualification.

About the role

If you are passionate about supporting Apprentices and Trainees across the Brisbane Metro region and ensuring workplace safety across a variety of industries and locations, then we invite you to apply for this key full-time role.

You will have to adapt to changing daily priorities and have strong communication skills. Partnering with the WHS Lead, and working closely with ECA Field Officers, your role will focus on workplace and psychosocial safety.

You will have demonstrated industry knowledge and experience (eg construction) and risk/safety experience on skilled trades work sites – with the ability to identify, address and follow-up on WHS incidents as required.

A working knowledge of state WHS legislation is critical, and Cert IV WHS is preferred. You must also hold a current Australian Driver Licence and be eligible for or currently hold both a WWCC (Blue Card) and RRTWC (White Card).

What will you do?

Provide guidance and support to a portfolio of Apprentices and Trainees throughout the duration of their apprenticeship/traineeship

Monitor and manage workplace health and safety, and shape WHS best practice across a variety of industries and locations

Assist the ECA Head Office team as needed with necessary reports, photos and administrative requirements

Ensure a safety-first environment and optimal working conditions for all East Coast Apprentices
