About the role
As a Medical Scientist, you will play a vital role in delivering efficient and effective Anatomical Pathology services across The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, within the Anatomical Pathology and Mortuary areas. You will provide senior technical expertise across all areas of the department, contributing to the delivery of high-quality mortuary, laboratory and tissue services that support timely and accurate patient care.
In this diverse role, you will perform routine and complex diagnostic testing, interpret and dissect surgical and biopsy tissue specimens, and apply your technical knowledge to troubleshoot procedures. You will also contribute to quality assurance and NATA accreditation processes, while supporting the teaching and training of pathologists, technical staff and scientists. About You
You will be an experienced and detail-focused Medical Scientist with a strong background in histopathology and a commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services. Your technical expertise and ability to work collaboratively will ensure you thrive in a fast-paced and supportive team environment.
Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent) with proven histopathology expertise.
Skilled in embedding, sectioning, staining, frozen sections and immunohistochemistry.
Demonstrated experience across specialist Anatomical Pathology procedures with strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of human anatomy, relevant legislation, quality systems and NATA accreditation standards.
- Demonstrate experience in Mortuary and body handling.
