Location: Sydney CBD
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time (12-month contract)
Salary: Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 to $142,665 per annum plus employer superannuation contribution and annual leave loading.
Your role
NCAT deals with a broad and diverse range of matters, from tenancy issues and building works, to decisions on guardianship and administrative review of government decisions.
The Guardianship Division of NCAT makes decisions about people who have a decision-making disability. The Guardianship Division determines applications about adults who are incapable of making their own decisions and who may require a legally appointed substitute decision maker
The Registry coordinator works closely with the Registrar and Deputy Registrar to ensure a range of quality services and support are provided to facilitate the operations and administration of the Tribunal, across four locations with seven teams.
What you'll do
We are seeking a motivated and resilient person to:
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the team including allocating and progressing work, providing direction and guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring decisions are considered and timely.
- Support effective working relationships with stakeholders including Tribunal Members, government agencies, community groups and tribunal users to identify needs and maximise the use of resources.
- Participate in review, reform or monitoring projects, identifying areas to improve processes and practice, and providing advice across the teams.
- Supporting staff through uncertainty and change in a high volume, challenging and dynamic operating environment.
- Perform quasi-judicial functions in accordance with legislation.

- Ability to think, analyse and solve problems to develop practical solutions
- Interest in and/or experience assisting people with disability.
