REGISTERED NURSE – DAYBORO

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse keen to work in a home environment?

Are you able to translate your clinical skills and experience to support a young woman who lives with her very loving family, and to work within the family's own style, set of values and family culture, including being a part of a team approach to trouble shooting when required.

We are seeking registered nurses to assist a young woman who lives with her family in the Dayboro area. She has 24/7, high support needs and is requiring a minimum of two overnight active awake shifts.

The young woman requires nursing level support to manage her respiratory health, physical positioning, personal care and overall wellbeing. A family member is also present at all times for support, training and trouble shooting. Applicants must have essential experience in management of respiratory health including suctioning and positioning. The position offers excellent renumeration and working conditions including Nursing Award 2010 Level 4.1 casual (or permanent to the right applicant).

Aura Lifestyles also offer support workers access to Salary Sacrifice up to $15,900 per year for Casuals, Part-Time and Full-Time and confidential access to an Employee Assistance Program (for work related and personal related matters).

THE ROLE

You will share a common vision of a good life, have the capability to learn to respond to her specific personal, medical, physical, emotional needs, routines and preferences and have a sensitivity towards supporting her in the family home, including following family direction. You will also be willing to support her and her family in other aspects of the home environment and under their direction, including full acceptance and respect of home based clinical support and assistance.

Not only will you enjoy building a positive relationship with the woman but you will also have strong support from her family and from other team members from Aura. The capacity to work as part of a team, including with her directly, her family members and other staff is also essential. Respect of the family, their specific culture, home environment and values system is critical to the care of this young woman.

You will provide appropriate, competent support within the context of the home environment, demonstrating professionalism with a personalized approach to building healthy relationships with the young woman and her family. Also essential to this role are strong values, recent clinical experience and strong communication skills.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

You will also hold a current driver’s license;

current Nursing Registration with APHRA;

current and relevant criminal history screening

You will be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and be able to provide evidence of your vaccination status

You will also have completed the NDIS “Quality, Safety and You” training module.

A cover letter attached to your resume outlining the reasons why you would be suitable to work in a home and community environment, your previous experience in supporting people with complex respiratory management, epilepsy and pain management, what strengths you could bring to the role.
