Job description:

HR Generalist - 3 Month Contract

We're seeking an experienced HR Generalist for a 3-month fixed-term opportunity with an immediate start, based in Charters Towers. This site-based position operates on a 9-day fortnight roster (5/2, 4/3), with accommodation and meals provided. Offering a competitive hourly rate of $70-$85 plus super, this is a great opportunity for a proactive HR professional to support managers, staff, and site leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on all HR matters including recruitment, performance, and workplace relations.
• Support HR policy, procedure, and initiative implementation.
• Manage change, talent acquisition, compliance, and HR audits.
• Handle HR administration (contracts, variations, case management, org charts, etc.).
• Act as site's primary HR contact, working with the GM - HR, Site GM, and SLT.
• Assist with salary reviews and local workforce development initiatives.
• Provide HR data, insights, and reporting for decision-making.
• Manage complex HR cases, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

About You:

• Strong background in HR/People & Culture with proven generalist experience.
• Skilled in workplace relations, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work compliance.
• Excellent communication, advisory, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Tertiary qualification (min. Diploma) in HR or related field.
• Mining, construction, or heavy industry experience preferred.
