Suprima Bakeries, a proud member of the Prima Group, operates a world-class, fully automated facility in Minto, featuring cutting-edge production lines and a state-of-the-art frozen warehouse. We specialise in frozen dough solutions tailored for supermarkets, QSRs, chain bakeries, and food distributors.
As we continue to grow, we're on the lookout for an experienced and motivated 2IC – Team Leader (PM or Night Shift) to support our Production Team Leads and help drive performance and quality across our operations.
About the Role
As the 2IC – Team Leader, you will play a key leadership support role in ensuring smooth and efficient production and packing line operations. Reporting to the Team Leader and working closely with the production staff, you will assist in coordinating daily tasks, training new staff, and upholding product quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Team Leader in overseeing daily production operations.
Lead by example in operating machinery and performing hands-on production tasks.
Monitor ingredient preparation, dough quality, and packaging output.
Assist in training and mentoring team members.
Maintain accurate records and escalate quality or safety issues as needed.
Ensure workstations and machinery are clean, safe, and running efficiently.
Promote a strong safety and food compliance culture (HACCP).
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a food production or bakery manufacturing environment (preferred).
Minimum 2 years' experience in food production or bakery manufacturing environment (preferred)
Leadership potential or prior experience as a team leader or supervisor (preferred).
High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work with food ingredients including wheat, dairy, meat, and allergens.
Comfortable with manual handling (up to 25kg) and standing for long periods.
Willingness to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
Understanding of food safety principles and workplace safety (HACCP knowledge desirable). Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months preferred.
MUST have a current forklift licence (LF or LO class) and minimum 1 year operating experience.
Basic computer literacy for production reporting and record-keeping systems
