The Opportunity
As you manage a district team who is responsible for responding to concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children, your day to day may involve:
- Supervising team members in providing case work services and planning to identified families and children in the care of the CEO which address child protection issues and strengthen family functioning,
- Undertaking complex case work activities with the team as required,
- Reporting to the District Director on the activities of the team,
- Liasing with appropriate cultural and Aboriginal services and communities that provide an identity for the child/ren or family that the Department is working with towards a goal of strengthening family functioning.
- Assisting the District Director in the recruitment, supervision and training of other staff as required.

There is currently 1 fixed term position available commencing ASAP for a period of 6 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

- District Allowance (Derby) - $7,436 for singles or $14,872 with dependants.
- Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) - subject to eligibility and availability.
- Subsidised electricity from September to April.
- Relocation/removal assistance.
- 5 Days Commuted Time Off in Lieu + 5 Days North West Leave after completing 12 months service in the region.
- Annual leave travel concession – After 12 months service in the region, the Department will cover cost for return flights to and from Perth for yourself and any eligible dependents.
- Regional salary packaging.
Qualification Requirements
You must have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant human services area to be eligible for this position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
