Job Description
• 0.6 FTE, part-time | Ongoing position
• Based in Hervey Bay QLD, on the lands of the Butchulla People | Hybrid working model
• From $44.78 per hour | Competitive salary + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
Each’s Commonwealth Financial Counselling and Financial Capability services offer free, confidential support to individuals experiencing financial stress. Through education, coaching, and advocacy, we help people build financial resilience, improve employment readiness, and make informed money decisions. Services are tailored to meet diverse needs and focus on early intervention to prevent financial crises.
Your role, your impact
As a Financial Capability Worker, you’ll empower people to take control of their financial futures. You’ll deliver financial literacy education, coaching, and budgeting support—helping clients build confidence and resilience in managing their money.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ financial situations
• Deliver one-on-one and group financial literacy education tailored to diverse needs
• Create case plans that consider cultural, social, and mental health factors
• Collaborate with financial counsellors and health professionals to provide holistic support
• Promote the program and build referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain accurate records in Each’s client management system
• Engage in supervision, team meetings and professional development
Who we’re looking for
You’re passionate about financial wellbeing and thrive in a collaborative, client-focused environment. You bring:
Certificate III in Community Services Work or higher. In addition, the following financial literacy education units (or equivalent) must be completed: completion of the following units:
CHCEDU005 – Work with clients to identify financial literacy education needs
CHCEDU006 – Improve clients’ fundamental financial literacy skills
CHCEDU007 – Provide group education on consumer credit and debt
Current driver’s license
Experience in financial literacy, facilitation, or group work
What will make you stand out
Broad knowledge of services supporting vulnerable people and promoting financial inclusion
Understanding of family violence, mental health, and intersectional needs
Experience in the not-for-profit or health sectors
