Paradox Coffee Roasters, a leading café and wholesale coffee roastery in Surfers Paradise, is seeking a passionate and experienced Cafe Assistant Manager to work along side our current Venue Manger. This pivotal role requires a hospitality professional with a strong background in food and coffee service, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Located in the expansive 4217 building, Paradox Coffee Roasters offers sustainably sourced coffee and handcrafted food, providing a welcoming destination for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. We operate daily from 7am-2pm, emphasizing a healthy work-life balance with minimal overtime.

The Role:

As the Assistant Manager, you will work alongside the Café Manager to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure a seamless and efficient workflow. This role requires demonstrated experience in café management and the ability to lead and develop a team while maintaining a positive and productive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management: Assist in managing café staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.

Operations: Ensure smooth operational workflow and excellent customer service.

Team Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and develop staff, implementing regular training programs.

Stock Management: Oversee daily stock rotation, monthly stock-takes, and review of results and variances.

Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring friendly and attentive service.

Flexible Scheduling: Available to work across a rotating roster, including weekends.

Cleanliness & Presentation: Ensure the café maintains a high level of cleanliness and presentation.

Skills & Experience:

Passion for Coffee: Formal barista training and in-depth coffee knowledge.

Leadership: Proven experience in staff rostering and managing the café floor with a systematic approach.

Team Development: Strong desire and ability to recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team.

Multitasking: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm and energy.

Customer Focused: Ensure top-quality service and a positive customer experience.

Attention to Detail: High standards for cleanliness and café presentation.
