About the role

IDEA Innovative Disability Engagement Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in St Marys NSW 2760. This is a casual role, providing vital support to individuals with disabilities in our local community.

What you'll be doing

Providing personalised care and support to clients with diverse needs, including assistance with daily living activities, social engagement, and community participation

Implementing client-centred support plans to help individuals achieve their goals and maximise their independence

Advocating for clients and liaising with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care

Participating in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve service delivery

Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and procedures

What we're looking for

Excellent command of Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to effectively communicate with Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients

Previous experience in the disability or aged care sector, with a demonstrated commitment to person-centred care

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients and their families

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to navigate complex situations with empathy and professionalism

A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with diverse needs

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent

Current First Aid certification and a valid driver's licence
