We work in partnership with people and families who need individualized support services due to disability, ageing or mental ill-health. Our Support Workers work alongside people from all walks of life giving, helping them live life the way they choose.
The role
Due to the personal care needs of the customer, we are seeking a mature female Support Worker to provide individualized support for a customer who receives 24/7 care.
You will be supporting a customer living with advanced MS and quadriplegia. As part of the recruitment process, you will meet the customer to ensure the right fit.
You will also be supporting other customers within the team and area; however, this customer will be your primary customer.
Shifts include fortnightly Sunday coverage and relief across the week. Minimum availability of 4 days (including Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) is required, with additional availability highly valued.
- AM: 6.30–9.30, 11.30–2pm (sometimes to 4pm)
- PM: 4–6pm
- NS: 8pm–midnight, followed by sleep shift to 6am
What you'll do
- Provide personal care (bowel care, catheter management, showering)
- Assist with domestic tasks essential to daily living
- Deliver community access and social support
- Administer medication safely
- Use a modified vehicle to transport the customer
- Manual handling using hoist to transfer
What you need
- Compassion, maturity, and reliability
- Previous experience in complex personal care
- Current Valid Driver's Licence (to use customer's modified vehicle) and a reliable vehicle this role involves travel
- Satisfactory NDIS Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
