About the role
The Senior House Officer – Research role provides a unique opportunity for a medical resident to contribute to and gain experience in medical imaging research through developing and undertaking new projects, providing research support to the Department of Medical Imaging (DMI) Director of Research, and providing research assistance to DMI staff and junior doctors.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide support to the Director of Research DMI in the development and facilitation of research conducted in the department.
- Provide medical and research support to projects in which the department is involved. This may include physical assessment of participants, obtaining consent, blood collection, and administering questionnaires.
- Provide research support for DMI staff for developing departmental research projects. This may include preparation of ethics submissions, database searching, and identifying appropriate research assistants to help.
- Develop and undertake new research projects within the department, including liaison with DMI staff to identify new imaging research projects.
- Supervise and maintain ongoing research studies within the Department of Medical Imaging
