Location: Southeastern Melbourne (near Dingley Village) | Travel: Statewide
Salary Package: $150K - $170k Base + $20K Vehicle Allowance + 10% Bonus + Training & Career Development
We’ve partnered with a respected national building services provider to find an experienced and driven State Fire Services Manager to lead their fire protection operations across Victoria. This is a rare opportunity to join a business with strong market presence and take ownership of a high-performing division delivering services across commercial, industrial, and government sectors.
About the Role As State Manager – Fire Services (VIC), you’ll oversee the full suite of fire protection services—spanning design, installation, service, minor works, and emergency support—across wet, dry, electrical, and portable fire systems. You’ll lead a skilled team of technicians and support staff, drive operational and financial performance, and champion service excellence across all contracts.
This role combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, and business development, making it ideal for a senior-level fire services leader with strong technical knowledge and a commercial mindset.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations
- Lead the Victorian Fire business unit in alignment with national goals
- Deliver service excellence across maintenance, compliance, and minor works
- Manage full project life cycles from quoting and tendering to delivery and handover
- Develop annual business plans and oversee P&L, forecasting, and budget performance
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Customer & Contract Management
- Ensure service contracts are delivered to the highest standard
- Maintain strong client relationships and drive customer satisfaction
- Actively reduce attrition through high-quality service and responsiveness
- Liaise with consultants, certifiers, and regulators to ensure compliance
Sales & Growth
- Identify and pursue new service and minor works opportunities
- Prepare and present quotes for contracts and repairs
- Collaborate with the national sales team on cross-state projects
- Support business growth through customer retention and acquisition
Team Development & Culture
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of technicians and admin staff
- Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive team culture
- Lead by example and uphold company values in all internal and external dealings
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with OH&S, QA, and all relevant Australian Standards
- Maintain licenses and accreditations, including FPAS and industry certifications
- Utilise ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, Uptick) for job management, billing, and reporting
What We’re Looking ForEssential Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10+ years’ fire services experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and fire protection systems
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services
- Experience with operational budgets, forecasts, and P&L management
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Pronto) and Microsoft Office
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence & White Card
