We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
• Demonstrated understanding of research ethics, governance, and compliance requirements, including familiarity with the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, and Queensland Ambulance Service's research guidelines.
• Proven experience in coordinating research applications, including ethics submissions, site-specific assessments, contract review, and data access requests, ideally within a health or academic research environment.
• Ability to assess research proposals for risk, compliance, and strategic alignment; identify and resolve issues efficiently; and apply sound judgement in a complex, multi-stakeholder setting.
• Demonstrated foundational understanding of quantitative and qualitative health research methods, including study design, data collection, analysis techniques, research terminology and reporting standards.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and practical advice to researchers, write governance reports and correspondence, and liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, and contribute to process improvement in a dynamic and evolving research environment.
• Proficiency in using research administration systems (e.g. ERM, SmartyGrants), Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic document management systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Demonstrated commitment to the promotion of research integrity, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement in research governance practices.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• A tertiary qualification in health, science, research management, public administration, or related discipline.
• Previous experience navigating research ethics and governance in a health-related field is highly desired.
