Are you passionate about promoting Family Safety? Join Cafs, a values-driven organisation, as our Men?s Family Violence Practitioner. This important role is part of our Family Safety and Child Wellbeing Team at The Orange Door.
As a Men?s Family Violence Practitioner, you will deliver timely and responsive intake, assessment, and casework support to men who use violence against women and children. You will play a vital role in supporting the safety of women and children by providing comprehensive risk assessments, risk management strategies, safety planning, and case management. This includes facilitating access to alternative accommodation options for men when needed. In addition to direct client work, you will mentor level 4 Case Managers, offering day-to-day practice guidance and responding to service delivery queries. You?ll manage a higher complexity caseload and operate with significant autonomy, contributing your expertise to support impactful and informed practice.
About you
We are looking for a motivated, values-driven individual with case management in the community services sector. The ideal candidate will thrive when working autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic team.
Skills & Attributes
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related discipline (Mandatory).
- Significant experience in conducting risk assessments, risk management and safety planning.
- Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Objectively analyse and evaluate available data, points of view, needs of stakeholders and potential solutions before recommending relevant actions or decisions.
- Decisiveness: Makes rational and sound decisions based on a consideration of the facts and alternatives. Can make quick decisions when required and commits to a course of action. Can also make tough decisions, sometimes with incomplete information and evaluates rational and emotional elements of situations.
