The ideal additions to our team are energetic and driven Construction Workers / Labourers who have a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new skills and have a go at a range of different tasks. We are looking for staff that have a great attitude and work ethic with a desire to be part of a close team with the motivation and ability to assist others.

Previous experience as a construction worker/labourer is most desirable.

Key tasks include but not limited to

Work towards completing allocated day to day tasks ranging from setting up site establishment’s, working through each phase of the job to demobilizing the site establishment and handing over a clean job that’s done correctly and to a high standard.

Digging and Cleaning out footings/trenches/holes by hand and or assisted with power tools and machinery

Erecting and maintaining perimeter site fences – safety mesh, fence panels, gates, silt fencing, access points etc.

Erecting and maintaining various types of safety barriers such as Star picket parrawebbing, tree exclusion zones, deep excavation areas and roped flags,

Using and maintaining machinery which includes but is not limited too, cleaning machines, greasing machines, fueling machines, running errands for attachments etc

Using plant and equipment such as plate compactors, rollers, site dumpers, DPU’s, concrete saws, jackhammers.

Basic construction and assist with the placement of concrete using shovels, screeds, trowels, laser levels, and vibrating equipment, putting pipe / conduit together etc

Tying reinforcement

Lifting and carrying equipment and materials (via wheel barrows, hand).

Using hand tools such as hammer, shifters, sockets

General site cleaning using brooms, scrapers, shovels etc.

Maintaining company assets and general upkeep of the yard.

Current tickets and licences e.g.

Additional training for the required certificates, tickets and licences related to the role will be provided.

Remuneration is based on an Enterprise Agreement depending on experience classification level.

Must have

Driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.

OHS General Induction Card (White Card) and ACT Approved Asbestos Awareness Certificate. Silica Awareness

Ability to obtain a security pass and/or clearance if required.

Willingness to work across multiple Canberra building sites.

Previous experience with machines and trucks favourable.
