The Role
The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and leading procurement strategies to deliver cost-effective, sustainable, and high-quality sourcing outcomes across the organisation. This role ensures procurement practices align with business objectives, drive supplier performance, mitigate risks and achieve value-for-money outcomes while maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Role Responsibilities
- Negotiate high-value and complex contracts with suppliers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage risk, compliance and ethical sourcing practices within the supply chain.
- Lead, coach and develop the procurement team to deliver high performance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide strategic direction and support for major procurement projects.
Requirements
- Tertiary level qualification in bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Procurement, Business or related field is essential with a preference for a postgraduate qualification (MBA master’s in supply chain or related field).
- Strong understanding of ESG sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and large-scale procurement projects.
- Sound knowledge of procurement systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Coupa) and category management tools.
- Eight plus years’ experience in procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management role.
- Experience in industry-specific procurement, e.g. FMCG, manufacturing, logistics.
