ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager, this is an opportunity to own and lead the People & Culture function. Leading a small team including a P&C Coordinator and a WHS Officer, you’ll partner with leadership to drive HR strategy, coach and develop young supervisors, and influence culture across the organisation. From overhauling HR systems and refreshing policies, to leading enterprise agreement negotiations, this role offers both strategic scope and hands-on variety.
Please note, this role can be worked either full-time (5 days) or part-time (4 days, 0.8 FTE), with a total package of $120K + super.
DUTIES
- Lead and deliver the People & Culture strategy and day-to-day HR operations
- Overhaul and optimise HRIS systems
- Drive recruitment and onboarding cycles
- Guide and coach emerging leaders
- Lead enterprise agreement negotiations and manage ER/IR matters
- Refresh and update policies, compliance frameworks, and governance processes
- Oversee WHS policies, reporting, and the WHS Officer
- Partner with the General Manager and senior leadership on culture, strategy, and engagement
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
This role will suit a proactive HR professional who thrives on variety and enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on delivery. You’ll be confident navigating ER/IR, influencing stakeholders, and supporting young and emerging leaders, while bringing fresh ideas to modernise people practices.
We’d love to hear from you if you bring:
- Experience in a similar People & Culture Manager role (ideally 2+ years)
- A solid HR generalist background across the full employee lifecycle
- Strong ER/IR knowledge, including enterprise agreement negotiations
- Familiarity with HRIS systems (ELMO or Employment Hero would be a bonus!)
- The confidence to coach and support emerging leaders and young supervisors
- A pragmatic, resilient, and solutions-focused approach - comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on delivery
- Experience in the not-for-profit, education, or service-based sector would be highly regarded, but isn’t essential
