Senior API Test Automation Engineer – Long Term Transformation Program

A major airline is embarking on a large-scale transformation program, replacing a legacy operational scheduling platform that has been in place for over 30 years. This initiative will modernise how operational data is captured and shared across the enterprise.

We’re seeking an experienced Senior API Test Automation Engineer to play a key role in delivering this transformation. You’ll help design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for APIs and event-driven systems, ensuring the resilience and quality of services that underpin this enterprise-wide initiative.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in software testing, with a strong background in API and event-driven automation.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and offsets.
• Strong Java programming skills with frameworks such as RestAssured, Cucumber (BDD), JUnit, AssertJ.
• Proven experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), plus familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a collaborative mindset in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Bonus points for experience in contract testing (Pact), security testing (OWASP), or previous work in aviation/travel/e-commerce.

Tech. you’ll be working with Java (Spring Boot), RestAssured, Cucumber, JUnit 5, AssertJ, Maven, Allure Reporting, OpenAPI, GitHub Actions, Kafka, Splunk/Datadog.
