Spotter – Civil Construction

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Spotters to join our civil construction team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe movement of plant, equipment, and personnel on site. You will be the designated Spotter whenever spotting is required.

This is a casual role to start with full-time hours. To support consistent hours, when spotting is not required you may be offered other tasks such as traffic management, labouring, truck driving, or machine operating. Your primary role will always remain spotting.

We have positions available in both the Western suburbs and Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. While we will aim to keep you working close to home, some travel may be required from time to time. A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport are essential. Applicants without these will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Provide constant visual guidance to machinery and vehicle operators

Monitor and maintain exclusion zones around plant and equipment

Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures

Assist with traffic and pedestrian management when required (if ticketed)

Report hazards, incidents, or near-misses promptly

Support the team with additional duties when spotting is not required

About You

Current and valid Spotters Ticket (mandatory)

White Card (Construction Induction)

Current Traffic Management tickets (highly regarded)

Knowledge of civil construction safety practices

Willingness to take on varied site tasks to maintain full hours

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (essential)
